Art Deco arrived in the early twentieth century as one of design history's most confident movements. Born from a world captivated by progress, modernity and the optimism of the Jazz Age, it translated those ideas into a visual language that still feels entirely assured today. Racconti's Art Deco collection is a direct homage to that language.
Art Deco takes its name from the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, an event that introduced a new design vocabulary to the world. The movement was shaped by the Machine Age, global cultural influences from Africa, Asia and ancient Egypt, and a belief that design should reflect the present rather than romanticise the past.
What emerged was a philosophy built on geometry, symmetry and precision. Bold forms, stepped profiles, rich materials and high-gloss surfaces were not decorative choices made in isolation. They were a direct expression of a world that believed in progress and wanted everything around it to reflect that belief.
Racconti's Art Deco collection draws directly from what the movement understood about the relationship between material, form and space. The geometric assurance of the forms is present throughout. Surfaces are expressive rather than restrained. Colour and texture are used with intention, as tools of design rather than background elements.
Rich palettes, strong silhouettes and a commitment to decoration as something meaningful rather than incidental define every piece in the collection. These are not pieces that arrive quietly. They carry the visual confidence of the movement that inspired them, and they bring that confidence into the contemporary Indian home.
Art Deco was built on the belief that boldness and beauty were not in opposition. Racconti's collection carries all of that forward, into homes where design is chosen with the same conviction the movement has always stood for. A century on from its zenith, that belief still holds.
